Discussion on Results of game 3

I am starting this discussion so that everyone including Captain, players and other HICC members who were spectators can express their viewpoints and discuss what we did right and what we did wrong. Out of three games we lost two and won the other one. We could have won the other two games too as we have a capable team. We always win as a team and we loose as a team. this is not to point any fingers at any player but collectively we all are responsible for the loss. let us hear from all of you how we can improve and do better in next game.

Re: Discussion on Results of game 3

Game 1 against Elite - We gave too many extras. We scored 190 and while fielding we bowled approximately 45 wides.  The math is simple 45extra balls and let's say they scored a single on 50% of the extras = 22runs + 45 wides = 67 runs on extras.  Elite only needed to score 124runs to win the game.

Game 3 against HCSC II - Our total score was too low to defend. 130runs is a total that 98% of the teams in the league will not be able to defend.  Our batsmen need to play more responsible especially the top 5.

That's why they are the Top 5.

Re: Discussion on Results of game 3

I was looking at the HICC II batting scorecard for this seasons matches, I found a couple of things that maybe of some help.

I believe that Bhavesh is one of the good batsmen in the team and he can easily hold one end. So If he bats up the order he can actually hold one end and also allow the stroke makers to play freely at the other end. Bhavesh has batted at No. 6 & 7 in these matches, and I think that he is a much better batsmen than that. He should bat anywhere in top 4.

Also the batting order was shuffled in the 3 matches (except for the opening pair). I think that rather than shuffling people around, it can be a better option to let them play in same position for a few innings and let them gain the confidence, because this is pretty early in the season and the batsmen need some time to settle.

Gaurav.
