HICC II clinches a thriller by 1 wicket against CUCC

HICC II clinches a thriller by 1 wicket against CUCC

After a flip of a golden coin, CUCC decided to bat first. It did not surprise any of us but it also gave us what we like – field first and win the game. As it has happened in the past, we loose the toss but win the game. In this game, it seemed otherwise but some late order heroics of 3 unsung heroes clinched a thriller from the jaws of defeat. Chirag Patel’s heroics with supporting roles of Pankaj and Raju Patel sealed the game for HICC II chasing 231 in 37.5 overs by 1 wicket.

India once again the champions!

Indo-Pak 2008 - India won by 7 wickets

After winning the toss the Indian team playing with a few debutants decided to field first, maybe the demons of batting first and getting out cheaply during last years Indo-Pak match was still fresh in their minds.
Things could not have been better for India as they got the wicket of Inam thanks to a brilliant catch by the wicketkeeper Kishan of one of the debutant Supratim’s bowling on the very first delivery of the match. Although, Inam looked unhappy with the decision the Umpire was very much convinced and the Indian team was buoyant as they knew that Inam is capable of playing long innings.

A win that wasn’t!

rainout.jpgby Gaurav Tripathi
I think that we all have been through a stage when we try hard to get something and then finally when we are on the verge of achieving it, something goes terribly wrong and we end up and ground zero. HICC A team’s last match against Cougar’s A team could be described as one of those experiences where its not necessary that even though you do every thing near perfect on a cricket field you would be the winner.
